Imagine Together
- Watch and listen to this sweet animal storytime together.
- Feel free to pause it at any moment to chat about what you have seen or heard so far.
- Talk about the emotions and feelings in the book. How did Gerald the Giraffe feel about his dancing in the beginning? How did he feel at the end? Have you ever felt like that with your friends?
- What kind of animal is Gerald? Let’s stretch our necks as tall as a giraffe! Identify all the animals in the book. Look up videos of these animals. How do they move? Copy the animal movements with your body.
- Create your own dance movements inspired by the animals you explored.
- Have everyone in the family pick an animal to create their own animal dance move.
- Teach each other your unique animal dance moves.
- Put all your movements together to create a new family animal dance.
- Try with different kinds of music and have your own animal dance party!
