Sing along with CMOM Educators as we sing Funga Alafia.

Funga Aliafia is a greeting song with origins from West Africa. Some have credited this song to the Hausa people from Nigeria and the West African country of Liberia. The words come from the Yoruba language. The first words of the song are “funga (or fanga) alafia, ase ase.” Alafia, means peace and ase is the spirit that is in all things.

Next, dance along to excerpts from CMOM’s Lets Dance! partner FERABA – African Rhythm Tap on CMOM’s Youtube channel.

  • FERABA – African Rhythm Tap, is an award-winning multicultural and multiethnic performance group, fusing the traditional sounds and movements of West Africa with American tap.
