Make Together
An intergalactic science fiction adventure is just getting started and our heroes are in trouble! Your favorite sci-fi heroes have been captured by an evil villain and have been frozen in rock-solid space ice. Create a rescue plan to save them from the villain’s lair. You’re their only hope!
- Place some small waterproof toys or characters toys from your favorite sci-fi adventure into an ice cube tray or a few small containers that can go in the freezer.
- Mix 1 part water with 3 parts baking soda, then pour the mixture on top of the toys or characters.
- Place your containers into the freezer overnight.
- When the toys are frozen in their rock-solid encasing, remove them from the containers.
- Place the frozen heroes in a bowl and create a story together. How did the villain capture our heroes? What tools will you need to free them from the space ice? Can you sneak into the villain’s lair without being discovered?
- Using a dropper, spoon, or cup, drizzle vinegar all over the baking soda ice to free your hero.
As the ice melts, the baking soda and vinegar react with each other to release carbon dioxide in a fizzy explosion. Congratulations! Your rescue mission was a success!
