A leader and innovator in children’s music and entertainment, recognized as “the queen of kids’ music” by People magazine and “the Adele of the preschool crowd” by The New York Times, Laurie Berkner is a singer, songwriter, lyricist, author, and founder of Two Tomatoes Records, LLC.

Join Laurie Berkner as she sings “Chipmunk At The Gas Pump” here or on CMOM’s YouTube Channel.

Listen to the story and sing along with Laurie.

  1. Act it out! Try your best chipmunk impression. How doyou think a chipmunk moves? What does a chipmunk sound like?
  2. Every time you hear the word ‘jump’, jump around like a chipmunk!
  3. Listen to it again. Now pick a different action word – like slide, twist, skip, or roll. This time, when you hear the word ‘jump’ do the new action word instead.
  4. Change it up again. Pretend to be a different animal and move like they would. Slither like a snake. Hop like a kangaroo. Crawl like a bear. See how many you can come up with!
