Dance Together
A leader and innovator in children’s music and entertainment, recognized as “the queen of kids’ music” by People magazine and “the Adele of the preschool crowd” by The New York Times, Laurie Berkner is a singer, songwriter, lyricist, author, and founder of Two Tomatoes Records, LLC.
Enjoy Laurie Berkner singing “Moon, Moon, Moon”! Copy her movements. Do you ever look up at the moon? What does it look like? What shape and color is it? Is it always the same shape?
- Listen to the song again. Leave it playing as you create your own moon art.
- On black construction paper or cardstock, use a white crayon or colored pencil and a small plate to trace the perfect circle, the outline of the moon.
- Time to create some moon paint! Pour liquid glue into a bowl or container and mix in equal parts shaving cream. Stir your mixture around with a paintbrush or spoon.
- Want to get messy? Get some paint on your hands. What does it feel like? Is it sticky, soft, squishy…?
- On your paper fill in the outline of the moon with your paint.
- Add stars using your extra paint or with a white crayon or colored pencil.
